1380 Atma darshan

 

I saw the darshan

Which is rare to receive

Though I never saw

Through my physical eyes

 

Even the mind

Didn’t experience it

Even the bhuddhi

Never understood it clearly

 

There is no place

For intellect there

Atma that experienced it

Never uttered [about] it

 

But the presence of it

Is true indeed

The means to achieve it is

Very very simple

 

The thirst should come

On its own

One should have the faith that

I will receive it

 

We should remain

Firm in it

And we need also

Long patience

 

When we get ready

With much peace [within us]

And await with

Much longing

 

Without any kind of

Commotion

It will appear

Deep within our heart

 

There is no need

For any form to it

No kind of voice

Should echo it

 

Transcending both

Mind and buddhi

When it bestows

Inner peace

 

Atman standing

Still without any motion

Could experience

Within itself

 

I attained

That darshan

Oh my Lord, therefore

I received you

 

I saw that darshan

That even the buddhi cannot fathom

And received

Immense joy

The need of the atman is completely different from other physical and mental needs. As someone well said [St. Augustine?]: My atman finds no peace until it finds REST in You. That is what means ‘born again’.  This term is not limited only to Muktiveda.  Even Pattinattar uses the same term by saying [already quoted in song 991] in a different way:

 

What is the use of wearing the ashes; what is the use of taking holy bath oh my heart

You don’t know how to reborn again—what do you find in the millions of matras in Vedas

Even though you were in the river, you do not know how to reach the shore.—a free translation by me.

நீற்றைப் புனைந்தென்ன நீராடப்போயென்ன நீமனமே

மாற்றிப் பிறக்க வகையறிந் தாயில்லை மாமறைநூல்

ஏற்றிக் கிடக்கும் எழகோடி மந்திர மென்ன கண்டாய்

ஆற்றிற் கிடந்தும் துறையறி யாமல் அலைகின்றயே.,

Unless one experience this in her atman, all other physical and mental satisfaction won’t help her to got this atma Anubhav.

 

1380 ஆன்ம தரிசனம்

 

காணாத தரிசனம்

கண்டேன் நானும்

கண்கள் அதனை

காணாத போதும்

 

உள்ளம் அதனை

உணர்ந்திட வில்லை

எண்ணம் கூட

புரிந்திட வில்லை

 

அறிவுக்கு அங்கே

வேலையே இல்லை

அறிந்தும் ஆன்மா

சொன்னதும் இல்லை

 

ஆயினும் அதுவும்

இருப்பது உண்மை

அடையும் வழியும்

மிகமிக எளிமை

 

தாகம் தன்போல்

வந்திட வேண்டும்

அடைவோம் என்ற

நம்பிக்கை வேண்டும்

 

உறுதியாக நாம்

இருந்திட வேண்டும்

நீடித்த பொறுமை

அவசியம் வேண்டும்

 

அமைதியாக நாம்

ஆயத்தம் ஆகி

ஆர்வமுடனே

காத்துமே கிடந்தால்

 

ஆரவாரம்

ஏதுமே இன்றி

ஆழ் மனதில்

அதுவும் தோன்றும்

 

வடிவம் ஏதும்

வந்திட வேண்டாம்

ஓசை ஒன்றும்

ஒலித்திட வேண்டாம்

 

அறிவு மனது

இரண்டும் கடந்து

அமைதி தன்னை

தந்திடும் போது

 

சலனமற்று

ஆன்மா நின்று

தன்னில் மட்டும்

உணர்ந்திடக் கூடும்

 

அந்த தரிசனம்

நானுமேக் கண்டேன்

ஐயனே அதனால்

உன்னை அடைந்தேன்

 

அறியாத அந்த

தரிசனம் கண்டேன்

அளவு கடந்து

ஆனந்தம் அடைந்தேன்
